The story starts: She was an innocent prisoner, a victim of circumstances, a victim of this cruel, canny world and was serving her sentence in a prison awaiting execution. He was in the same prison, about to be freed and he met her one day. He saw her innocence, he deeply thought of what she termed as a crime. 'No', he said, 'you ought to be free'. He decided to set her free. He fought for her and the doors of the prison were opened for her but she refused to be freed... She denied to come out. But the man was determined to set her free, he did not give up, he had to take her out, he broke all the walls of the prison, he was fatally wounded by the time the last wall was broken. She was sitting at the same place unmoved and she screamed at him, "Whyyyyyyyy? Why stranger.......... why you? To those of you who are asking where am I. I've left the world which meant everything to me, I'll pen something here only when I return to fulfill the promise for which I left everything. Who you thought I was, is the person I'm trying to be...
That's true..but sometimes even your truth seems as a lie and a lie is said to be your truth !
ReplyDeleteSimple but honest words !
Take Care
Yes, so very true, and the saddest part is that we all do it at some point - more often than not.
ReplyDeleteLove the title, for the reason not related to the post but movie.
ReplyDeleteTelling you from experience, lying to self can sometimes give immense happiness. At those moments, I feel truth is overrated.
@Priyanka- It can be but cannot relate. Under what circumstance can that be?
ReplyDeleteWell, I cannot generalise. But something that depends on situations and perceptions.
DeleteBut even beyond that, somedays I wake up n feel, Truth IS overrated.
@Priyanka- I now know. There are good things to be accomplished but those are to be done with a lie.. sometimes lie is simply the only way out to do what is right.
ReplyDeleteCorrect. I believe truth and lie, both have their places. It's how they are perceived is what makes the difference. And of course the circumstances.
DeleteIn the course, I've come to terms with the fact that everything's run by circumstances. We have very little part to play. A thief did not dream of becoming a thief. And in most cases, a liar is not a liar by choice.
A lier may not lie by choice, but may be greed that might eventually prey on others. call it the survival of the fittest or the brutallity of the stronger! I would say, anyone who is a step ahead is unknowingly preying on the ones behind to meet their egoistic desires.
